Sadly

“Sadly, Mum passed away on the 24th May following a massive stroke and a brief stay in hospital. It is with real relief that I know the last person to see her conscious was XXX, who is truly wonderful and who managed to make Mum laugh and forget her troubles with every visit. Thank you XXX, and thank you to everyone who had such a positive impact on Mum’s life.”

Mum’s anxiety

“From the start you and your team have been a warm and wonderful presence in our lives, relieving not just Mum’s anxiety and loneliness but giving me peace of mind too. For the first time in years I felt like I had a team working alongside me to care for my wonderful Mum. You managed to be so many things: friendly but not over familiar, practical and encouraging but not bossy, professional but not cold. And you always went that extra mile to make Mum feel safe and genuinely cared for. You are phenomenal people, with an amazing gift, and I with your services and skills were more widely understood and appreciated.”

Recommendation

It was, therefore, with real trepidation that we considered employing the services of carer after Mum’s hospital stay in October 2012, on the recommendation of Occupational Health. The image we had of carers (fuelled somewhat by negative media coverage and hearsay) was not good and Mum was very reluctant to admit strangers into her home on a daily basis. We could not have been more wrong…

A really huge thank you

“I wanted to write to you and say a really huge thank you to you and the team at Serendipity for making Mum’s last few months much more comfortable, dignified and enjoyable. Without your professionalism, care and support, I think Mum would have struggled more than she did and her situation would have been considerably bleaker.”
